| Kodiak is famous for its unpredictable
and sometimes dangerous weather; wilderness rarely offers a second
chance for the unprepared. Our terrain can be tough with mountains
rising nearly straight up from the sea. The Sitka Spruce forests and
broad valleys and meadows offer abundant cover and feed for our big
game animals. An intimate knowledge of Kodiaks climate and terrain
are critical to a hunters success and safety. Raspberry Island
Remote Camps is a year round residence and was established in 1982.
We know the terrain, the weather patterns and the seas. What a great
comfort to know hunters can hunt hard all day and return to a hot
shower, hot tub or Bonya, and a wonderful home cooked meal; forget
the freeze dried. Crawling into flannel sheets and Woolrich blankets
on a Beautyrest mattress sure beat a damp sleeping bag and a noisy
tent. |
